Formed by Nigel Townshend in 1982 as a civil and structural design firm, TWP has grown into a highly capable resource and infrastructure focused engineering project house providing a full range of engineering, architectural, finance and project management solutions. TWP Projects, the largest subsidiary of TWP, is the biggest EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) organisation of its kind in Africa. TWP Projects has four major divisions: TWP Mining and Infrastructure, TWP Process, TWP Energy and TWP Regional Offices. The company has a project portfolio with a capital value of more than US$10-billion and has offices in South Africa, Australia, Zambia, Mozambique and Peru. TWP also owns TPS.P Architects, one of the largest architectural companies in South Africa. Following the merger with Basil Read in December 2009, TWP, will also focus on supplying turnkey or EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services in the global infrastructure arena.
